Recent reports have it that BMW is working on a 7-seat crossover that will go up agains the Audi Q7 and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. The BWM X7 is expected to be based on a longer version of the X5/X6 platform. The not so popular image of large gas-guzzling SUVs may be the reason why BMW has hesitated so long, which is not to say that the production of the X7 is a sure bet.
