More Pictures of New 2012 BMW M5

More pictures of the 2012 BMW M5. I think it looks bolder and more substantial than the model it replaces, albeit in more subtle way. It also performs better. Nice looking car, inside and out.

Cleaner and more purposeful interior layout and design...

Video: All-new 2012 BMW M5 in Action

A video of the all new BMW M5 in action. It actually looks more sleek and planted than the outgoing model. It even looks decent in blue, but it would look better in black (but what car doesn't). Very nice car, which happens to perform better -- on paper -- than the last M5. Me want.

All-new 2012 BMW M5

BMW has officially revealed its all-new 2012 M5, and it looks menacing in a subtle sorta way. Here are some simple specs:

Power: produces 552 horsepower and 501 lb-ft of torque from a twin-turbocharged V8.
Transmission: Standard dual-clutch transmission that delivers power to the rear-wheels
0 to 60 time: 4.4 seconds
Top Speed: Top speed of 155 mph (the optional M-Drivers Package can raise it to 190 mph)
Fuel Economy: 9.9 litres/100 km (28.5 mpg imp) in EU test cycle (as if buyers really care)

Design features include larger front intakes and side vents, 20-inch wheels and Z-rated tires, and four tail pipes on the outside. True to BMW's brand name, you can find some of the latest performance tech on this baby, including the German automaker's M Drive system that allows drivers to store two individual modes for a range of programmable parameters including the accelerator response.

The M5's interior is as austere as the in the standard 5 Series, which isn't a bad thing. It looks clean and attractive.

Overall, I wouldn't mind owning this car. What about you guys? You can find more information on the 2012 BMW M5 by clicking here.

All-new 2012 BMW 1 Series Hatchback

BMW has released full details on its all-new 1 Series compact hatchback. For the 2012, the 1 Series is larger in vertually all dimensions, providing more legroom for rear passengers and more luggage room.

In Europe, it will be powered by one 1.6L gasoline engine and a slew of diesel engine. Top speed for the most powerful model is 142 mph, with a 0 to 60 time of 7.2 seconds. All engines are mated to a standard six-speed manual gearbox, while a new 8-speed automatic transmission is optional. A coupe and convertible version will follow a year or so later.

Now that we have that out of way, who here likes the look of the new 1 Series? I think it looks a bit iffy with those droopy eyes. The current 1 Series didn't win any beauty pageants but at least it was bold in its own unique way. Aside from those headlights, everything elese looks OK, especially the new interior.

Seven-Passenger BMW X7 in the Works

Recent reports have it that BMW is working on a 7-seat crossover that will go up agains the Audi Q7 and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. The BWM X7 is expected to be based on a longer version of the X5/X6 platform. The not so popular image of large gas-guzzling SUVs may be the reason why BMW has hesitated so long, which is not to say that the production of the X7 is a sure bet.

BMW 1 Series to be Produced for Only One Year

Get them while they're on sale -- Reports have it that the 2011 BMW will be produced only in 2011. Not only that, but only 1,000 units will be produced. This essentially guarantees that this M1, given that it's the first of its kind, will be a collectors item. The next-generation 1 Series M will come after the release of the next-gen 1 Series.

Toyota the Most Valuable Car Brand in 2011

Toyota has regained its title as the most valuable car brand in 2011, after losing it to BMW in 2010. Despite Toyota's massive recalls, it seems that they didn't have a significant impact on consumer confidence in the carmaker's brand. It just show's that Toyota's image is resilient.

BMW came in second, Honda in third and Mercedes-Benz in fourth. But these are just car brands...the most valuable brand was non other than Apple, which overtook Google for the number one spot.

Weird Comparison: Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon, Porsche Panamera Turbo and BMW X6 M

MotorTrend is up to it gain -- comparing cars that shouldn't be compared to each other. This time around, it has decided to pit the CTS-V Sports Wagon against the Porsche Panamera Turbo and the BMW X6 M. This comparison is about power, so in a sense, it does have some merit. Let me know what you think.
